CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST
Dr. Elizabeth Davis passed her MBBS from Christian Medical College Vellore in 1984. She had a brilliant career and had the fourth rank in her batch in the final MBBS examinations. She then worked in N.M. Wadia Hospital, Pune for one year in Medicine and Paediatrics. After that she worked for one year in St. Luke’s Hospital, Hiranpur in the Santhal Paraganas for one year in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
From 1986 to 1989 she worked in the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi as a Junior Resident. She received direct admission for the MD Psychiatry in the same Institute in 1986 and completed her MD in 1989. In 1990 she also passed the Diplomate of the National Board exam in Psychiatry.
From 1989 onwards she has been working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Davis Institute of Neuropsychiatry. She has published many papers in National and International Journals. She is the first author of two papers in the British Journal of Psychiatry, one of the most prestigious psychiatric journals in the world. Her main areas of interest are Adult Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry.
She also ran a successful labour room and general clinic for women and children in the Davis Institute of Neuropsychiatry and has performed over 4000 deliveries here. In 2005 she had to close the labour room due to time constraints but still runs the general clinic for women and children in spite of her busy schedule.
She is an active member of the Rotary club of Ranchi North and has served two years as the president of the club.
She has been actively associated with the Indian Psychiatric Society, Jharkhand State Branch since it started in the year 2001.
His hobbies are Reading, Gardening, Art, Painting and various Social Service Activities. She is a keen dog lover and is also an aquarium fish enthusiast.
